Fleet Reserve Association’s Americanism Essay Contest.
SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Members of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 98 is inviting students to participate in their 2019-2022 Americanism Essay Contest. Students in grades 7 through high school seniors are invited to submit a 350-word or less essay centered around the theme What My Vote Will Mean to Me.
The Fleet Reserve Association sponsors an annual essay contest. Any student (including Home Schooled), grades seven through twelve, may enter the contest. The contest is not restricted to children of the FRA or its Auxiliary. However, each entrant must be sponsored by an FRA member in good standing or a current chartered branch.
The Fleet Reserve Association is a congressionally chartered, non-profit organization that represents the interests of the Sea Service community before the U.S. Congress, the Association’s membership is comprised of current and former enlisted members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

He conceived the concept of enlisted personnel banding together for mutual Loyalty, Protection, and Service. He rightfully is the Founding Father of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA).
RVPNW JJ Wynn, NW Regional Americanism-Patriotism Essay Contest Chairman released the regional results of the 21014 essay contest. These contestants were the first place winners at the branch level throughout the region and the first place winners from the regional round have been forwarded to the National level round.

The Association is named after the Navy’s program for personnel transferring to the Fleet Reserve or Fleet Marine Corps Reserve after 20 or more years of active duty, but less than 30 years for retirement purposes, and its membership is comprised of current and former enlisted members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
The Fleet Reserve Association is the oldest and largest association representing enlisted Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel. Established in 1924, FRA's mission is to safeguard the pay, benefits, and entitlements of the active duty, reserve, and retired members of the Sea Services.

The Fleet Reserve Association, Sierra-Tahoe Branch and Unit 137 held its annual essay contest on Patriotism for Eighth to 12th grade. A luncheon was held Saturday at the Veterans Hall in Carson.
Marty Posekany, secretary-treasurer of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Wolverine Branch in Grand Rapids, visited Sharon Spencer’s class on Wednesday to talk to the students about the association and its purpose, and to congratulate students on their understanding of the chosen essay topic of the First Amendment and what it means to them.
